Why David Caddy is nervous about blogging

I am nervous because I normally edit my writing many times before I put it into the public space. I have done so much editing of my writing that I even enjoy it now!
What kind of weird person enjoys editing their work? Am I the only one, or do others like editing too? I usually do more than 20 complete edits of my books before they are published.
(The best part of writing is the creative 1%)

Well done, Dave, on your first blog!
I, too, love editing. Right now, I’m just on the last chapter of my young adult novel, and I can’t wait to write that last word. Then I can get stuck into the editing, start from the beginning, be ruthless and get rid of all the rubbish.
I have no idea how many times I’ll rewrite it. I find with editing that no matter how good you think the last rewrite was, leave it a while and you’ll always find something to change.
But when I write blogs, I usually only edit them once.

I love editing. It’s the most artistic part of the whole biz for me: carving slabs of text into pleasing shapes.
I usually go through 20-25 printed drafts of each book, one after another, red pen in hand. Perfectionist doesn’t begin to cover it
