Hi Everyone
What a fantastic few days I had at the Rosalie Writers Festival! And thank you so much for giving Afeif and myself the opportunity to be part of it with the Year 3's and Year 6. I loved visiting you, sharing ideas about writing and enjoyed hearing all your suggestions for the short stories we wrote as a class.
I also had a wonderful time with the Year 1's at Subiaco Primary
School where the creative juices flowed as we came up with class poems. They made me feel very welcome at their school too.
It was really great to see your imaginations at work (and your humour! - especially the Year 6's) and we look forward to reading the poems and stories you come up with yourselves.
What a wonderful opportunity the Festival is for all you budding readers and writers. Happy imagining and creating!

What wonderful little imaginations you all have! I couldn't stop laughing at your fantastic ideas. Maybe one day some of you may become authors. Keep up the great work and thanks for showing us how clever your ideas are. Enjoy reading.

Dear Year Ones (Room 9)
After reading your blogs, I wish I had been there with you to listen to the Writers too. How inspirational! It certainly sounds like you all had fun and learnt lots of very interesting things at the festival, aren't you lucky? Keep up your reading and writing and have fun with your imagination!

Angus in Yr2, Room 7 is my type of guy. He likes the sort of books that I write.

I hope that some of the stories the students wrote during my sessions will eventually be published on this site.

Dear Y1s

What a fnatastic collection of ideas for stories. Perhaps you could start writing your own book now. I would love to read a story about pandas, flowers, Indiana Jones, dinosaurs and superheroes, robots... and lots more.

Dear Year Ones in Room 10

Your ideas for books are fantastic!
How many books about dinosaurs and whales do you think we will need? Rosalie School library will have to become VERY large very soon, I suspect!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It was great fun learning about the things that interest you all. You are such a clever group of Year Ones.

That's fantastic Simon. I hope he does! We'd love to get in touch with him too. We're always interested in keeping up with writers in preparation for the next festival - roll on 2010!

Funny you should say that, Mike. I had an email today from a published author who was once a Rosalie student, after he saw my blog post about attending the festival. I asked him to drop by this blog and leave a message ;-)
